What is the Heart of the Story?

October 28th, 2007

You have all just published pieces of writing on which you worked long and hard. Please share what worked for you in your story and the steps you took to turn the entry in your Writer’s Notebook into a published piece. What is the heart of your story? What is the message, or the big idea you want your reader to understand? What did you do in your writing to pull in the readers and let them experience the same thing that meant so much to you?

    To mrs. mongno,

My heart of my story is when I went to see a large live volcano called “Kilawea volcano.” I want my reader to understand my topic. If they don`t, that means that i wrote bad on my personal writing.

The message that I want to tell is to always try hard even if u want to give up. You should try your best all the time. I want my readers to understand that I was really scared but I didn’t give up or cry out loud. I tried to pull in the readers by describiing about an object. I tried to find better words to describe. I did this because I thought that will help the readers know how all the things looked like.

    1) First I try to think wat kind of story might be( not to boring or too much action).
    2) I make a time line for my story.
    3) I take the hart of my story and make a time line of it.
    4) I plan it on a piece of paper.
    5) I tipe it and print it.

    Chick pick( my stories name)

The hart is that grand mom leaved with the chicks because she rented them for a week. The message is that sometimes that happy things happen even when a sad thing happened before that. I pulled the readers by making an action for the first sentence. I really want readers to understand that I really want a happy ending in my stories.

My heart of the story is when I told the readers to don’t do two things at once.
My step in my class was to put it in the small booklet and put sticky notes and stuff. I pretty much liked my story because other people liked my story. I don’t like people to hate my story. Because I put hard effort on it and imagine someone hating your story!

The heart of my story is about losing my best watch. Why do you think I write about this because I don’t want my friend to lose the watch like me. So I tell them how to take good care of the watch. This is my first watch.

The Heart of my story is that when you asked to do something you got to keep doing it until the end. I want my readers to understand that I was very scared but I didn’t ran away or go back. So never give up something when you now that you can do.

The heart of my story is mostly in the middle of my story. Also I have a great example of my heart of story. I have one story called “Rainy Park”. First I made a timeline for my story, and found my story had big chunk of heart.

    BIG CHUNK EXAMPLE:
Be ready to go to park, walk out, Aunt was ahead of us, saw black clouds, entered park, Felt a drop, started to rain alot, never saw aunt in park, back home, Aunt came.Mad

    Small Heart EXAMPLE:
Felt a drop, warn my grandma, thought about aunt, felt clumsy, thunder and rainstorm, started to run, went in to True fitness, came out and sliped, walk fast, back home

I feel my heart of my story is
    1)Felt a drop
    2)Started to rain alot
    3)Never saw aunt in park
    4)Back home

I made my big chunk story into little heart story, and it makes the reader in that place with me. Making heart of my story is fun!

The heart of my story is to write the story that happened to me before and that you know all the details about it.

The heart of the story is another word for “The most important part of the story.” When I write the heart of the story I usually write as many exact truth detail to get the reader to be able to picture it in their mind.
In the heart of the story making big chunks can also really help.
When you write also make paragraph to show the different dialogs, time, places, actions or talking about something else. When you write also be careful for misspelled words or capitalization, because if you don’t when you read it out loud you would be thinking “Hey that was wrong. How did I get it wrong?”
Also write your emotions to make a great writng.
